What we're building
27 acres, and a plan for every one of them.
Sunset Prairie is becoming a countryside family getaway built around farm life, food, nature and time together.
Here’s the whole vision, what’s already here, and what comes next.

The idea
Beautiful places to stay that bring you closer to the land, not further from it.
Most getaways ask you to choose. Comfortable and disconnected, or authentic and rough. We think that’s a false choice.
Sunset Prairie is being built so families can wake up somewhere genuinely comfortable, walk outside, and be standing in the middle of a working farm.
Farm life, without giving up a good night's sleep.
What every part of it serves
Four things we keep coming back to.
A place to stay
Accommodations designed around the land, the view and being together.
A working farm
Animals, gardens and real farm life. Not decoration.
Food with a story
Meals connected to what’s growing outside the door.
A place to learn
Hands-on experiences where kids learn by actually doing.
A place to slow down
Porch mornings, long evenings and hours that need no plan.
The accommodations
Cottages with the prairie on all sides.
The first permanent stays at Sunset Prairie are being designed to feel like part of the landscape: porches facing the open field, big windows, and enough room for a family to spread out.
Close enough to the barn that morning chores are a short walk. Far enough apart that you feel like you have the place to yourselves.
Sleep well. Step outside. You're already there.

Where everyone ends up
Room for your family, and for everyone else's.
Shared spaces are where a getaway turns into a memory. These are the places we’re building for meals, gatherings, celebrations and the end of a long day outside.
The pavilion
Long tables under cover for shared meals, farm dinners and gatherings that run past sunset.
The pond
Fishing, skipping rocks and first light on the water.
The venue
A place for weddings, reunions and celebrations.

Gardens and growing
Fields you're allowed to walk into.
Cut-flower rows, kitchen gardens and growing space that guests are welcome in rather than kept out of.
Pick a bouquet. Pull a carrot. Find out what a tomato tastes like an hour after it comes off the vine.
It's hard to explain where food comes from. It's easy to show someone.

How we get there
Built in phases, in the open.
Rather than disappear behind a construction fence until everything is finished, we’re opening what’s ready and inviting families in along the way.
