A working farm
The animals don't keep business hours.
Sunset Prairie is a working farm, not a traditional attraction. Things change with the weather, the animals and whatever needs our attention that day.
Keeping visits small and scheduled helps us protect the animals, take care of the farm and make sure we’re actually ready to welcome you when you arrive.
That’s why visits are currently available by reservation only.
Before your visit
Come ready for a real farm.
That means dirt, animals, uneven ground, changing weather and occasionally something that doesn’t go exactly according to plan.
We recommend comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting a little farm on.
Children must remain supervised by an adult, and guests should follow all posted and staff-provided animal guidelines during their visit.
Your reservation confirmation will include current directions, parking information and anything else you need to know before you arrive.
Weather
Farm visits may need to be adjusted or rescheduled due to severe weather or conditions that aren’t safe for guests or animals.
Animals
Animal interactions may vary from visit to visit based on the health, comfort and needs of the animals.
Arrival
Please arrive at your scheduled time. Because visits are intentionally limited, we may not be able to accommodate unscheduled arrivals.

A limited number of guests can spend the night right here at Sunset Prairie in our Class A motorhome.
Come out to the farm. Meet the animals. Catch the sunset. Then wake up and do country life all over again.

The farm is growing into something more.
Today’s farm visits are only one piece of the Sunset Prairie story. We’re building toward a countryside getaway where families can stay, experience more of farm life and spend a few days connecting through animals, food, nature and hands-on experiences.
And we’re inviting families to get to know us while we’re building it.

Before you head our way
Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Sunset Prairie is a working farm, so visits are currently available by advance reservation on select dates and times.
How much does it cost to visit?
Farm visits are $40 per vehicle. Your reservation and payment secure your scheduled visit.
Can we just stop by?
Not currently. Keeping visits scheduled helps us care for the animals and make sure someone is available to welcome you.
Can my children feed the animals?
Approved animal feeding may be available during your visit. For the health and safety of the animals, please don’t bring outside animal food.
What should we wear?
Come dressed for a farm. We recommend closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can handle dirt, grass and changing weather.
What happens if it rains?
Because this is primarily an outdoor experience, severe weather or unsafe farm conditions may require us to reschedule your visit.
Can we stay overnight?
Yes. Sunset Prairie currently offers limited stays in our Class A motorhome. Visit our Stay With Us page for availability.
